Pay Fees by Instalment

It is possible to pay course tuition fees in instalments for all postgraduate courses (including graduate diplomas and research degrees) that last longer than 30 weeks.

The dates and amounts of each instalment depends on when you start your course, and the duration of your course:

Courses starting September or October 2017

One and two year courses (of three terms each year) or research degrees (MPhil and PhD)

  • 50% at or before enrolment
  • 30% on 1 February 2018
  • 20% on 4 May 2018

For students on courses which are two year or longer, the instalments above apply to the tuition fee for the first year of the course. An instalment plan for each subsequent year's tuition fee would need to be set up at the time of or before enrolling onto that year of the course.

Four term courses (London College of Communication and London College of Fashion only)

  • 40% at or before enrolment
  • 20% on 1 February 2018
  • 20% on 4 May 2018
  • 20% on 6 September 2018

Courses starting January 2018

One and two year courses (of three terms each year)

  • 50% at or before enrolment
  • 30% on 4 May 2018
  • 20% on 6 September 2018

For students on two year courses, the instalments above apply to the tuition fee for the first year of the course. An instalment plan for the second year's tuition fee would need to be set up at or before enrolling onto the second year.

Before setting up an instalment plan

It is important to note that:

  • The first tuition fee instalment must be paid before a student can enrol onto their course. If a student has made a successful application for the Postgraduate Loan, they would receive their first instalment of Postgraduate Loan only after enrolling onto their course. Therefore, it is recommended that students make provisions for this. If you have questions about paying tuition fees using a Postgraduate Loan, please contact the Student Fee Manager at your UAL College using the details below.
  • If you are an international student the terms of your visa will apply, and you should ensure that you have met the financial conditions of your visa. UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) require students to prove that they have the funds to pay the full tuition fees for the year and have held the funds for at least the previous 28 days at the point they apply for the visa. See our Immigration & Visas page for more information.
  • Remaining up to date with payments and clear of debts to the University is a necessary part of your enrolment. If you start a course and withdraw from the course after three weeks from the course start date, or the date you first attended if later, you would remain liable for the full tuition fee. See the Student Fees Policy for more information.

How to set up an instalment plan

You can set up a payment plan through the online fee payment gateway, which will automatically debit funds from your bank account or card, on the dates shown above.

You will then be sent an email confirming the payment plan and a receipt for the payment you have made. You are required to bring this to your enrolment event.
