The launch of the Global Disability Innovation Hub (2016) Stratford, informs the purpose of this PhD opportunity, which convenes leading expertise and supervision support from the GDI Hub founding partners: London College of Fashion, University College London and Loughborough University London, and wider community.
Applicants are invited to consider potential synergies working across this academic community to propose innovative research study that spans GDI Hub themes: user-centred design of technological solutions; sustainable materials and technologies; bespoke manufacturing and enterprise models; cultural and sporting catalysts for change; technology and knowledge transfer; positive models to inspire change; disability inclusive international development.
This Scholarship is funded by London College of Fashion and may for example intersect LCF’s Better Living Research agenda, the Digital Anthropology Lab (DALab), Centre of Sustainable Fashion (CSF) or other research strengths with GDI Hub foci. www.arts.ac.uk/fashion/research/
London College of Fashion (LCF) is one of six constituent colleges at the University of the Arts London (UAL) with a strong inter and transdisciplinary academic fashion portfolio. All candidates must satisfy the University’s minimum doctoral entry criteria of an honours degree and/ or an appropriate Master’s degree or equivalent. An IELTS (academic) overall score of 7.0 (and 7.0 in writing) is essential for candidates for whom English is not their first language.
