Robin Jenkins - Interior & Spatial Design Senior Lecturer

Robin Jenkins’ research includes the establishing of a Lifeboat Service in Japan and the design of “Instant Lifeboat Station”. He is an active lifeboat crew member with the Thames Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and a practicing artist.
Jenkins graduated from the Architectural Association in London and worked in professional practices for eight years before becoming a tutor at University of the Arts London.
On the BA Interior and Spatial Design course at Chelsea College of Arts Jenkins is:
- Design Research Studio leader for Design and Survive: research and design for disaster on local and global scales
- Third year coordinator
- First and second year tutor
He is also responsible for a tutor group on the MA Interior and Spatial Design.
Jenkins has a studio in south London, but his practice also sees him working in south Wales, Japan and Greece.
He is currently working on a publication about work created over the last 10 years, looking at the link between design, home, memory and the need to survive.
